Earlier this month, Clarksville lyricist, Kyro Swanks, released “Gangsta Grillz,” a single dropped to establish himself as a solo artist. This song highlights both his experiences growing up in Clarksville and where he is now. The chorus summarizes those experiences by comparing his past and future desires to wanting, “Iced out gangsta grillz.” The energy in this song elicits a visual, which we can look out for this Spring.
Music has always been a part of Swanks life. He grew up in the church where his mother was the choir director for nearly a decade. He spent many years as the church house drummer, however, his first encounter with music was his older cousins collection of Gucci mane and DJ Drama mixtapes.
His exposure to these artists eventually influenced him to create back in 2008 and also inspired his new single, “Gangsta Grillz”. Swanks has been writing and releasing music alongside his cousin, Mali Man, as a duo called “S.W.O.L.E.” and is also apart of, “Three Dollas,” a creative collective of producers, artists, and content curators in the TN area.
